Over hill and dale

300 kilometres of hiking trails criss-cross the Alpstein. In between, there are 24 mountain inns to spoil tired and hungry hikers. There are also six cable cars and thousands of unique moments and experiences.

Put on your hiking boots and off you go!

Our guesthouse is just a five-minute walk from the Ebenalp cable car. This takes you comfortably to the summit, from where a wide variety of hiking trails start, for example to the world-famous Wildkirchli Cave and the Äscher.

Directly behind our guesthouse, the hiking trail leads towards Seealpsee and deeper into the Alpstein.

Take a bird’s eye view

From our garden terrace – weather permitting – you can watch countless paragliders landing right on our doorstep. Accordingly, we count many paragliders among our guests. The flying schools also offer tandem flights if you would like to enjoy this bird’s eye view.

Our guesthouse is just a 10-minute drive from the cantonal capital of Appenzell. This makes it the ideal starting point for discovering all facets of the Appenzellerland.
